Trailer Forecast: High-Level Plateau

TRAILER SHIPMENTS will be stable but far from stagnant in the next 18 months, according to Peter Toja, president of Economic Planning Associates. After consecutive years of strong growth, trailer shipments are expected to ease slightly during the second half of 1999 and into 2000 before resuming the growth path that has characterized the industry for most of the 1990s.
